All of my cats over the years have ignored my plants as long as I kept the plants at an appropriate distance from the floor. I brought the new cat home two weeks ago and he immediately tore a Christmas cactus to pieces. I did a bit more rearranging of the plants last night, but caught him in the act again this afternoon, paws in the delphinium seedlings, chomping on the already mangled Angraecum.

Thanks for sharing your stories of naughty pets, and thanks for the great ideas on how to outsmart cats. I'll continue to move the orchids up and away, and invest in some decoy plants as soon as possible!

Funny, how some could care less, and some can't stay away.
