Sometimes it just happens. The plant may not have had the energy to produce 2 spikes worth of flowers. If everything else falls in line, then don't worry about it.
I'd also double check to see if everything is really ok. Of particular interest are the roots. If you've got a clear pot, it is easy to see without pulling the plant out of the pot.
I'd also be a little bit more reserved with the watering just for the time being. It doesn't have to be drastic. A tiny change is usually enough.
