Help! My Phal is dying. Do I cut off the dead flower head? Female

Well, Phillip really is King so, I hesitate to add to his reply: I can't tell for sure but it looks like your Phal is planted in moss. It also appears to be sitting in a pot inside a decorative pot. Read the link he gave you but also when you water, take it out of the decorative pot and let it drain. If you are going to leave it in moss, don't water again until the moss is almost crispy. After you have researched a little more, uou may want to tackle repotting. When the flowers fade you can cut the stem off at the base. Hope this helps.

Hello B24! Welcome to the Orchid Board. I'm pretty new at this too, so I'll just say that orchids are really interesting plants. When they have the right conditions they do well and reward you with the loveliest flowers of any houseplant. So keep asking questions and reading up on all this! You will find some differences of opinions here at times, but you'll figure out what works best for you. The flowers eventually fade, but if you take good care of the plant you can get it to bloom again. Check out the American Orchid Society website for general information, here's a link to get you started:

Enjoy, but watch out--it's a little addicting!
