Default Flower falls from Paphiopedilum.:(

This morning the flower had fallen from my paphiopedilum. I bought her about a month ago. The plant looks healthy -- it has several new leaves -- but the stem of the flower appears crimped. Is this normal?

Maybe physical damage, or water stress while developing the spike.

So this is not an indication the plant itself is sick? TIA

My guess is it was already in flower when you bought it? You really have, then, no way to tell how old the blossom was. If so, then this is completely normal. When the blossom just falls, I trim the stem off down near the leaf fan. The fact you say it is growing leaves is a good sign. If you haven't already, you might want to take the opportunity to repot into fresh mix. Usually the same pot can be cleaned out with hot water and soap, rinsed and reused.
