My newest favorite cure for mealies is neem oil. I had to drench my plants with it a few times but it did get rid of them. I am so impressed with it that I bought a little neem tree.
Just a note: I would not spray any pesticide indoors that is not approved for indoor use. Companies would not put warnings on the labels of their products if they were not required to do so by law (or threat of lawsuits). I am not against pesticides as I use them for my fruit trees but I do believe in treating these chemicals with great respect (thanks to a degree in ChemE with a few classes in Biochemistry). Just because a compound was derived from a plant doesn't always mean it is safe for humans. I would not use Monkshood oil, for instance, no matter how effective it was against insects. Neem oil seems to be considered very safe, though, from what I have been reading. People have been using it for a very long time with no ill-effects. It isn't as effective, perhaps, as some of the outdoor pesticides but, then, most of our current pesticides are not as effective as the many pesticides that are now banned or limited due to their propensity to cause cancer, interfere with the brain development of children or cause detrimental harm to the environment. (Looks like chlorpyrifos will be available again, though.) Here is some information that might be of interest:
