Get a butterwort (Pinguicula). These are plants that gain their nutrients by attracting and digesting bugs. I had endless issues with fungus gnats because I grow some other types of plants that need the soil to stay damp. One spring, we had little clouds of them and the family was suggesting that the plants had to go. I bought my first ping and the results were amazing. I haven't had trouble since. I usually only discover I have had a fungus gnat outbreak when I see the leaves of my pings covered in black specks. The pings have pretty flowers, too, and are a rather attractive plant. Mine even gets mosquitoes, small spiders and fruit flies. I just added a sundew but the pings have already finished off the latest gnat outbreak so I will need to wait to see what it can do.

I know it's been mentioned before, but I have had excellent results by floating a mosquito dunk in my water and water everything with it including house plants in soil. Haven't had a gnat in 2 years

"Buy more plants" is pretty much the best solution I can imagine to a problem.
