Just inherited Lusidia discolor from a friend. So cute! Can I grow this in pure sphagnum moss and a hanging basket? Repotted this way after I got it. I know it's terrestrial, so I figured it would be fine if I keep the moss at the correct moisture level. . could be wrong though hahahaha. Will change if need be! (Seems fine now.)
This is one of the few plants I grow in a plastic pot. Because they are terrestrial and spread a lot, I use a large (> 10 inch) plastic pot. Bottom third of pot filled with relatively inert drainage material (I use styrofoam chunks). Middle third is medium to fine orchid bark with added charcoal. Top third is African violet potting soil. Keep moist (not soggy) and give same or slightly lower light than Phalaenopsis / Paphiopedilums. Feed similar to your other orchids. Mine grows and spreads/branches well, and blooms reliably in late winter.
