Here are the humidifiers I purchased. My buying decision was based solely on one thing, and that was price. A humidifier is a humidifier. With it, I was able to take a furnace-dried room from under 30% to over 70% (now I keep it at about 60-65%). To me, that makes it a wonderful purchase.
Now, bear in mind that once the weather warms and you're no longer running a furnace the humidity in your house will likely go up. Well, at least until you begin to use air conditioning! Here in Georgia we have a fairly high natural humidity level and now that the furnace is turned off and some windows are open the humidity in my plant room stays well over 60%.
