As a general rule, if I put off buying something, it's never there when I go back...

I'd go for the 2 Latouria dendrobiums, and brassovola nodosa. I have a metric ton of pretty cattleyas.

That's an exciting dilemma to be in! I guess it comes down to how much growing space you have and how much you're willing to spend. I have my pick of big box stores and even grocery stores in my area that all carry orchids now, but I've almost never seen anything but phals.

So I actually left for vacation a couple of hours after taking those pics so I am unable to go buy those plants right now. Luckily the distance has given me time to think about how they are unbloomed seedlings and need a year or more to bloom. I think I will be able to stay strong through this one. I already have enough plants. I don't need more. Even though they are cheap. And in pretty good shape. And some interesting varieties that I might like to try. Ummm...

What kind of a silly question is that?

If they're rare in your area and you're gone for awhile, the choice may be made for you!

Keep in mind as someone posted earlier that the photos on the tags are 'approximates', not usually what the actual plant will be. Best to check the pot tag and Google what that says, to be sure of what you're getting.

Some of the plants will be blooming size. The tampensis, probably the nodosa x., the aggregatum...

Speaking of tampensis, it's a favorite of mine. The Epiarthron is also what the picture on the hangtag is, I have it and quite like it (it was also a bag baby, and bloomed right after purchase). The aggragatum (lindleyi) and ampliatum are also what the tag says. The nodosa is probably Little Stars, always a good performer. Really though, it depends on what you like in an orchid. (the hybrid catts are usually floofs, not always though) And they're usually pretty healthy if you get them pretty quickly after they arrive at the store.

Amen! Easy and super rewarding!!!

ALL. the box stores in my neighbourhood specialize in Phals. If I ever came across the display you just showed, my only response would be to buy and "Start the car" before they escaped from my buggy
