Rotted roots or normal ? Male

You showed root photos of the plant when you first bought it:
Vuylstekeara in S/H need to be reassured

The roots were alive when you bought it. It is normal for the roots to die when they go into S/H. The plant needs to grow new roots that are adapted to S/H.

It is better to move plants to S/H when they are beginning new root growth so the new roots can grow into the LECA and become adapted. If you move a plant when it is not making new root growth, the old roots may die before new roots form. This stresses the plant and pseudobulbs wrinkle, which is happening to your plant. You can remember this next time and not move a plant to S/H until it is making new roots.

Your plant will not recover until it grows new roots. Normally intergeneric Ondicium hybrids like this can grow well in S/H, but it may take yours a while to recover.

Putting it in bark now will not make any difference. I would leave it in S/H.

This is not the same orchid I'm talking about in both treats. The one your are referring to is about a vuylstekeara I bought on March 25 (bare roots at the Montreal expo) that has very healthy roots. I was unsure If I should had put it in S/H because it has a flowers spike on it. But probably is also growing new roots as it as young pb.

This treat is about Wilsonara Kolibri that came with the roots in the state the pictures show.

Oh! Then I would put it into S/H and hope for the best. Unless you want to try to return it to the seller.

It is now in S/H. I'm hopeful it will do fine.

I have sent an email to the seller and I have not even gotten an acknowledgment.
