Hi everyone. I am new to this forum, and did not know whether or not to post in advanced section or beginer because of the topic. So yesterday I hand pollinated a Brassia orchid a paphiopedilum orchid and a phalaenopsis orchid. I want to harvest them as green pods for seed sowing, so how long do I wait before picking the seed pod on each one?
I hope I was clear on what I was asking but if not feel free to ask questions for clarification.
I have no experience personally, I only had seed pods once and I didn't do the pollination. I was too busy to harvest and I got orchid dust everywhere instead of being able to harvest it.
You may be very familiar with growing orchids from seed, but... sometimes people don't realize that growing orchids from seed is very different from growing other plants from seed. Do some reading if you aren't familiar with the process.

Then there's also the fact that neither of your crosses will result in viable seed.
The blossoms may have collapsed and appear to be making capsules (the proper term, as they are not "pods," even though that's the term most used), but brassia x paphiopedilum, and brassia x phalaenopsis are not compatible crosses.

sorry for the confusion, I meant that I pollinated each individual and I was not trying to hybridize them with.
