The anosmums which bloom only once a year, check them out on the dendrobium forum. They are very fragrant. Strong heady and sweet smelling. The phal Bellina also is scented.

Dendrobium speciosum is indeed gloriously fragrant. According to a local specialist cymbidium grower the following hybrid small/compact cymbidiums are scented.

Brunette "Tetra Mint'
Melanie "Sulphur Yellow"
Special Blend "Mr Stripey"
Tea Time "Sweet"
Aussie Rules "Rachel"

I like the encyclia family for fragrance...cordigera, rufous, alata, etc. Most of the large cattlyas have a sweet fragrance, also. BettyE.

As I posted recently somewhere here: my most intensely fragrant orchid is Pot. Hawaiian Charisma 'Hilo Beauty' I've had it for years. I have to give away the divisions I pot up cause of limited room.

It blooms all year, vivid and lovely, good form, and the scent is so intense it infuses my whole apartment. Nobody can believe it. Even I can't sometimes.;)

I will put up a pic of last bloom; it's now in sheath on three bulbs. You want intense fragrance? This is one of the hybrids you might consider, also a fab grower.

My encyclia cochleata is supposed to smell like coconut? I have never found it to have a fragrance. In fact before seeing this post i started a new thread about it

My encyclia cochleata doesn't have a fragrance either.

I have a couple unidentified cattlyas that perfume the whole area with a strong fruit loop scent!

Same here. Had mine in bloom couple of 6 months ago without any fragrance unfortunally.

The one i am Always looking forward to when she is producing spikes would be our Nelly Isler plants. Truly love the sweet frangrance they produce when the sun is shining upon them.

My worst smeller would be my Dendrochilum Magnum. When she was in bloom a couple of months ago she managed to relocate a conversation with friends of us to the kitchen since her 3 flower spikes were working overtime

I agree about the Nelly Isler. Although it isn't my favourite fragrance, this orchid is one of my favourites. Compact and long lasting.

Speaking of Nelly Isler, Phal I-Hsin Kiwi has a similar, very strong fragrance in the morning.
