Agreed Roberta. The only one that sits in water is my old cymb, McGyver. In bark, huge clay pot and I'm not crawling under the rack to siphon off the excess with my turkey baster. (The thought of that should make you giggle). Otherwise every one is well drained. It hasn't appeared to harm him in the least.

We had a speaker at our orchid society that claimed benign neglect of any orchid is best practice. I agree. Once I heard that and quit fussing with my orchids everyday and worrying about the roots has done wonders for me.
