when I moisten it lately most of the moss goes from white to brown instead of the normal green color? just a tinge of green, think that I may have hung it on the Vanda incorrectly.

Spanish moss is REALLY hard to keep alive in a low-humidity environment unless it gets soaking wet every day. It is probably better to wet it at night, since most Tillandsias open their pores at night for respiration.

People in the marine-influenced part of southern California grow it easily. They get dew almost every night. People farther inland struggle with it.

There are populations with different-sized leaves. The finer stuff is much more prone to die in low humidity environments than the kind with larger leaves. Unfortunately the kind in the southern US is the fine-leafed kind.

I have been soaking it while on the Vandas 4-5 times a week very carefully.

It's not your fault. I don't think the fine-leaved Spanish moss can be kept alive without high humidity.

Do you think it is finished? I removed it tonight and soaked for awhile & then contained and covered it with plastic wrap and added air pockets.
Parts of it turned to that green live color while the others changed to beige-brown while wetting.

The green part is still alive. The brown part is dead.

I water my vanda every day in winter, and soak the moss thoroughly. Plus if it is a hot day, it will get watered more often.
Make sure you give it very weak fertiliser, 25ppm N or less, because if not the roots and the moss risk salt burn.
