Unfortunately, in your photo it's hard to discern anything. However, if the spike is releasing a "dark liquid", I would not only cut the spike off, I'd also take the plant to an exorcist.
Exorcists are for spouting, pea-soup-colored liquid.
Is it really dark liquid, or does it only look dark on the plant? Soak some onto a white tissue or paper towel and see what color it is. A lot of orchids make drops of clear sugar solution from buds, or from the nodes on the flower stem. This may be to attract ants, that will then protect the plant from other bugs.
