Seems like my psychosis is happy! Curious if I need to stake the spike to get it straight up? Also a new growth. Wish those roots would head into the medium

Aereal roots are actually a good sign, so be thankful! Happy plants grow aereal roots.

I would stake the Psychopsis spike. They tend to get really, really tall (the one I have in spike now has a 2 foot spike and has yet to bud).

Thanks! How long did yours take to get that tall? I imagine mine will take awhile since it's doing a few things at once. New growth, flowering on old spike and sending up another spike, I'm guessing it can't do them all quickly.

You can pretty much expect about 3 months from the onset of the spike until the first flower.

And those spikes keep on giving. I have had these pop out a flower at intervals of a month to 6 weeks for 2 or 3 YEARS. Even if it looks like the tip of a spike has died, leave it alone... it may pop out a side branch and keep on going. Don't cut the spike until it is dead-dead-dead all the way to the base.
