Visitor-wise, I am a single male who lives with three very large, very active dogs. During the day, while I'm at work, they sometimes do things such as trash-can raiding, which leaves a horrible mess. The other day they opened the pantry cabinet and I got home to find between 50 and 60 cans of food pulled out, including some they carried into the living room! Before I would allow a visitor to my excessively messy home I would need federal disaster aid (FEMA) for cleaning, and would have to board my dogs. It's easier to just spend my time alone.
It may well, but I still prefer to just use a very weak fertiliser solution on every pass.

Dogs can be a colossal pain in the arse, but I really couldn't imagine a home without them.

CARPET? Thank the gods we have tiles. I shudder to think what the carpet would be like with our 4 dogs.

Hairy, certainly.

Bil, in practice, I often am in a rush in the morning, so I also use a very dilute fertilizer solution. For the convenience. I can't imagine a weak solution harming roots.

Dogs a pain in the arse? Nah - I'm pretty amused by their antics! Watching a dog pick up a food can and carry it to the next room is absolutely hilarious. I'll admit that the garbage messes are less than pleasant, but it makes them happy and so I don't get upset. Also, and this is the kicker for me to never be upset with a dog, I once came home to find a total stranger - wearing gloves - yelling "HELP" from a closet. On the other side of the closet door was my avatar, who is 90 pounds of huge muscles, staring at the door and growling. Had Sully not been in the house, I believe a lot of my property would have disappeared! Sully didn't bite him, but had he tried to leave, or threatened the dog, I would have found nothing but remains when I got home. (And yes, I DID make the guy stay in the closet until police arrived, which he did NOT like.) Another dog, now deceased, saved my house from burning down by alerting me very quickly to an electrical fire. I'll put up with their messes to know that I have the finest home security system in the world!

Yeah, I know what you mean. They are a pain. They make the place smell, there is hair everywhere, they are a tie, you have to work around their lives, but it's all well worth it.

Here's another update on an $8 I found. I think it turns out really good the way it is right now. Hopefully it will thrive from all the advices given here in this post. Enjoy you guys and disregard the dogs. They are every curious of everything new.
