It can be pretty bright on the north side, ES. In the summer my north side is very bright. In the winter, I had enough light to grow Wilsara and Oncidium and they flowered well. It all depends as you know on the angle of the sun and reflection..

Also, you can get several clip on plant lights at Amazon. Both attractive and non purple. It's good to have one and an extra fan handy.

Looking at that Tolumnia, it must be liking what it's getting...those look like nice spikes on the way. Clearly the duration of light (long) is making up for the lack of intensity. Can't argue with success!
