K-Lite and RO. pH issue?

As with most things I start, I dive in full steam. So of course, after ordering some K-Lite, I started reading about RO water.

I've ordered a small RO system, and have been reading about the decreased pH of RO water as it absorbs CO2.

Will this be ok with K-Lite? Or will I need to adjust pH prior to watering?

What are your experiences?

The carbonic acid that forms in pure water upon absorption of carbon dioxide is such a weak acid that you need not even think about it.

I will warn you, though... when you add the K-Lite, you may think the pH is, again, too low. Don't worry about it. The plant and the medium will control the in-pot pH, and that's what's important.

Thanks Ray, I ordered some ph test strips. For my own curiosity, I'll test my mixed fertilzer and water, and then test a sample of the pour through. I'll post back for whoever is interested. I probably need to be careful though on my s/h plants right?

Not really.

That was my supposition too, but I found that the plant itself affects that so strongly (check the pH of the reservoir at various times of the day, if you want to be shocked), that I simply stopped worrying about it.

It's not the pH that's so important, but the alkalinity or basicity of the solution, which is basically it's resistance to a change in pH. Dilute solution of such fertilizers in pure water are low in that property.
