I like the "Big Foot" Phals. Right now I'm only interested in a pure white, but here is one I have blooming right now:

Default I guess I put my "foot" in my mouth lol

Wow jkofferdahl that is so cute! TY for sharing! Is the proper term "foot" instead of lip? I want to make sure I don't use a misnomer when describing these beauties. I guess I just assumed it was a lip lol or I think I heard someone else call it a lip. Is there a reason you are after the pure white one?

I've mostly seen them referred to as "Big Foot", though I've also seen "Big Lip" used. I think either is OK so long as everyone else understands the reference. And yes, it is the flower's lip.

I'd like to find a pure white one simply because Peter Lin posted a pic of one and it was absolutely stunning.

Ah I see thanks for the clarification. Peter Lin has some beautiful orchids (If it is the same Peter Lin that is from Southlake Texas). I may go check out his store on ebay, it has been so long since I've looked around his store.

Yes, the same Peter Lin - who is, by the way, an orchid genius. Many of my orchids have come from him. Take a look at his web site, Big Leaf Orchids, as well.

They look weird to me...haven't gotten used to the flower form yet. Not bad, just weird.

I think it is referring to the large side lobes of the lip, much more prominent than most Phals. To me it looks like the reverse of peloric (which is lip pattern in the petals) Here it looks like the petal pattern in the lip.
