Best/favorite miniatures?

OK, I have everything but the hardware cloth so I've temporarily improvised - it's kind of crowded now, but with hardware cloth I can build"walls" in the area for hanging. The pics were taken before the lights (I use T5s) were lowered.

On the front are mini-Phals (excluding braceana and thailandica, which are in spike and so not to be disturbed), a couple of Sophronitis, an Encyclia, and an Ascocentrum:


On the back are numerous Zygostates and several genesuses (genii?) that I can't recall as I type, though all are species:


Once it's completed I'll post the finalized area.

Looks great Charles! Looks like you've ordered from Louisiana orchid connection? What is the plant that is top row second from last (going left to right)...

Zabeta, northern california can be pretty cool, though, right? How do you grow the mini's you have so far? What has done best for you?

Along the lines of what Estacion Seca mentions... mini's and dry and heat in general just don't do very well... I'm a little inland down here and I've been having a heck of a time with mini's that aren't in a growing cases (aquariums/ enclosures/ etc.). And min's are my thing so needless to say it's a tad disheartening. But with growing cases and lighting- a setup of sorts you definitely have more options.

-neofinetia hybrids like ascofinetia, neostylis (although they do better potted when it's warmer and dryer, or in a basket)
-various mini catt hybrids with laelia aloarii or cattleya walkeriana in the parentage
-mystacidium braybonae (should do better for you than capense)
-isabelia virginalis
-bulbophyllum taiwanense
-sophronitis cernua
-dendrobium pachyphyllum

I'm John, not Charles - though I consider Charles a friend! Louisiana Orchid Connection is my friend, yes! I would guess that all of my minis come either from them or from Andy's, and I can't say enough good words about either.

If you mean top row (first picture), left to right on the front, that would be Ascocentrum pusillum. On the back side it would be Trichoglottis triflora.

So sorry John! in truth I get you guys mixed up on here even though your screen names are completely different, don't know why!

I'm talking about the cute little guy next to the asco... there are two sophronitis looking ones, but the one in the middle- looks like a constantia?

I was turned on to LOC from someone on here but yet to order... I just recognize those plaques that seem to be only what they use. The roots on those plants look well established! If there weren't a show just around the corner I'd order from them like right now!

The plants between the Asco. and the Encyclia are both Sophronitis cernua, a plant new to me.

I've actually seen a few other places use cypress placques, but LOC seems to have first dibs on them. I've gotten numerous plants from LOC and they always arrive healthy and well-established. The two Zygostates lunata from them came mounted, and were very well established on the placques - Plus, when they sent them they also threw in a Zygo. alleniana, also healthy and well-established on the mount. LOC, Andy's, Peter Lin, and Hausermann are my go-to suppliers, and account for at least 90% of my plants.

I really like your setup, especially the A-frame with the humidity tray between the sides. What is your light source?

I have a four-bulb T5 fixture above the plants, though it's raised for the picture.

I remember Dendrobium Lava Burst 'Puanani' being very very hardy and take full sun/dry media/low humidity and bloom nearly all the time it seemed. I don't think in spike it was over six inches (but been a few years).
