I would be surprised if a pitcher filter could really produce near pure water. Before going much further, I would take a sample of the "purifed" water, before you add anything, to a Petsmart or Petco, and have them test the water for you. They will do it free.

Thumbs up Pitcher Zerowater filtration system

estacion seca, that you for your input, as to the zero pitcher I have a TDS meter and after filtering water I checked it and it registered 000. The instructions say when the meter reads 006 it is time to replace filter (if you use for drinking water), when it reads higher than 000 I will adjust the amount of fertilizer/nutrients added. But, I will be taking a sample of the water to Petsmart (?)tomorrow to see if my meter is accurate. Thank you again.... Zoren....

Smile To Ray and all my Mentors

Ray, I appreciate your input and will be attending to water/fertilizer with more understanding. I have ordered a EO,TDS and PH (I have a TDS meter, but,) the deal included another TDS meter as part of the price (its only money). I will be conducting a 'pour thru test' as soon as I get the meters. I am extremely happy to have joined the orchid board, I find that the information I've been finding before is 'NOT' very useful, because one article says one thing and another article on the same subject will read completely opposite. I should have joined Orchid Board 4yrs ago when I started to become more interested in Orchids. I fell I have to introduce myself properly: I am a 'service connected'(100% disabled) Veteran with PTSD and I have been 'socially' separated from society for 57yrs, I've been addressing my Traumas for about 10yrs in group therapy at the VA. I didn't realize that Orchids would be helping me with my 'problems', even better that going to Orchid shows (which I had a problem going to) would be helping me as much as it seem to be doing. I am not looking for 'sympathy' from any one, I just wanted to 'thank all of you for your help and comradery. Thank you all again, Zoren......
