Looks like Phoenix, AZ. Now that's some heat. Thinking back, this orchid was packed in sphag when I got it. I'm sure it needs more water now.

When summer hit in late March days in the growing room suddenly went from 80s F / mid 20sC to 105F / 41C and nights were around 85 F / 30C. Three nice Oncidium hybrids in sphagnum in 4" / 10cm pots collapsed and died within days. Maybe if they'd been in bark and drier they would have survived - who knows? But I had trouble watering them enough during the winter, even in the moss, until I stood them in dishes of water.

I have only visited the west briefly and it was in winter, which was pleasant. I have a hard time imagining 105 f. Although, we have seen it. And joke as much as you like, humidity does make a difference, and we are often very humid. As you have aptly pointed out many times, where we live makes a good deal of difference in how we grow the same thing.

That is not too hot. I also have a Mtssa and during all summer it's under constant low 80's and 15 to 20% HR.
Do you know your HR and temp in the growing area?
I also think you should water it more. I sugest, after a good soak in the first week, in the second start a new regimen by giving it small portions of water 3 times/week, just enough to keep it lightly moist.
Keep monitoring it, especially the pblubs. They should plump if the watering is correct.

I like the heat. I wish I could have those temps year round.

Lots of sun, mine is in an eass window, it did have some CFL lighting to help it through winter. Also, a couple treatments with kelp, and it does like water. I'm excited about this one. Flowers and fragrance were great when I first got it.
