Winter Watering???
Hi, I was wondering if I should continue to water my mounted orchids 1-2 times a day throughout the winter. Thank you!

It depends entirely on the type of orchid, and even the type of mount. Plants with distinct inactive periods need less water because they use less water, so these you may be able to skip some. Others, though, require roughly the same watering year-round. If your orchids are stick-mounted, though, just water. It's virtually impossible to over water a stick-mounted orchid.

I have a dwarf Phal, an Oncidium, and a regular Phal. They are all mounted of pieces of wood.

It will partly depend on your temperatures. Almost anything mounted needs near-daily water year round. The plants you mentioned should not be dry for long. I would water them in the morning rather than the evening unless your growing space is quite warm during the day - warmer than most people keep their houses during a cold winter.

I would probably still water the Oncidium each day, but again it partly depends on what type of mount you have. I water my mounted Phals both in the morning and again in the evening.

I assume you keep these indoors? Do you temps drop too much in the winter? In which case you may want to avoid watering later in the day.

most growing orchids need at least 50 degrees constantly....and 30 degrees is below freezing! that will kill most orchids no matter how you water or don't water!
