I'll tell you what the weirdest part of winter watering is for me.

Standing in the greenhouse, watering the orchids while outside the rain is drumming on the greenhouse roof!

They should make them with detachable roofs.

December is the month where there are many days and nights that hover around 50 and there is a fine mist in the air, 100% humidity. Those are the days I wish I had an outdoor space where I could stick my Masdevallias on. Instead I got to treat them the same as always.

Oh yes, sorry. The temps get to around to 68˚ F at lowest. I grow them inside of my house. I do not currently have a greenhouse.

68 as the lowest would probably not cause too much of a slow down in plant growth.
