I have a new Vanda that has three large short roots above all the other hanging roots. One has a green bulbous like growth coming out the top. Could this be a new plant starting? I usually keep it on the back patio in good shade but have brought it in for the winter and keep it in the bathroom so it gets moisture from the shower. I would appreciate any input on growing this orchid.
New stems and leaves don't come from roots. New root tips are bright green, and can emerge from anywhere along the stem or existing roots.
When you have made 5 posts you will be able to post photos and we can see what you are talking about,
Vandas prefer a lot of light. People in south Florida grow them outside under 30%-50% shade cloth. Most need to stay above 50 degrees F / 10C and 55 F / 13C is better.
