If it dies, it looks brown/grey pretty quickly. It can look grey when it is thirsty, but when sprayed, it then greens up instantly.
Mine gets 25ppm nitrogen at every watering, but it ca take much more. When I watered the stanhhooppeas, that's where a lot of the moss was, so it got oe spray of 150ppm a day. The only danger is that if the sun is too hot on it, and you use a strong fertiliser then the tips can start to brown a bit.
