New Flower Stem?
Default New Flower Stem?

I re-potted my Orchid a few months ago. I have been nervous about whether it would make it through the transplant as my last one didn't go well. I had a lot of guidance from a woman in the garden center when I was getting the orchid potting chips and pot. Today I noticed that there is a new leaf starting to grow! YEAH! It also looks like a new flower stem may be growing??? Should I do anything else other than get a stake to attach the stem to?

I think that may be a root rather than a spike, but it will be much easier to tell soon as it grows out. If it is a spike it will be a while before you need a stake, but it can't hurt to be prepared. Nothing to do but continue normal good care, watch, and enjoy.

Hey at least you got it through the re-potting and are rewarded with new growth whichever it be.
Good Luck with that!
