High temps.
Default High temps.

Fingers crossed children,

It's been 40 C routinely here, and while a couple of Milts have been VERY unhappy with that, everything else seems to be toughing it out.

Had to go to see the doc today, it was predicted to be a bit hot, and came back to find the outside, shade temp at 43 and the greenhouse a tad over 46C

That's pushing 125F for all you backwards types.....

I wonder if they will all survive?

I sure hope they do. I get stressed when we get near 30C and the greenhouse heats up. The saving grace is that it usually cools off at night. Getting real cool some nights lately.

A little off topic, but we are going on a tour of Spain and some of Portugal in Oct. Is it normal for you to have pretty warm temps still in Oct. or is this an unusual year??

Here is the same, routinely max between 38 and 40 (100 / 104 F) and today 43 C (110 C) with the same forecast for tomorrow. Nights are cooler, but now are around 20şC min (68 F).

Here in Portugal, it depends of where you're going. We have a small country with many microclimates.
I sugest you to visit this page. It will give you an accurate idea of the weather in october, with temp and precipitation data.
Better than my explanations.

Thanks. That helps. We will be in Porto, Lisbon, Fatima, sort of along the western coast I guess. I see it gets a bit cooler in Oct. Likely the same for most of Spain. Really looking forward to seeing both countries-or at least some of them

Sorry bil, off topic a bit....

No probs. Spain down south has usually cooled off by october.
Already the weather forecast for the next two weeks is showing the temps easing off.

Thanks for the temps on us back word types, of which I'm one. I'm just to old I guess to change. I would be a dyin with those temps. We have 54 F right now. I am hoping it will warm up a bit as the dogs and I are going camping in the Mountains this Thursday.

Silken you have a good time on your trip.

If your nights cooled down like that, your plants will probably be OK.

54 F? Wow. Funny thing is, for the last couple of weeks I have been fantasising about the cooler autumn, but as soon as the cloudy days hit, I will find myself missing the sun.
When I came out here first 40 was pretty damn hot, but now, 45 doesn't seem that bad after all.

As much as I like the cooler weather it does mean summer is over, so sad. I do hope all your plants come out well.

20C is a reasonable night temperature for succulents (including most orchids) having to endure high day temperatures. I think if the sun or wind does not burn your leave, the plants will recover.
