Water softener with R/O
Default Water softener with R/O

I have a whole house water softener system. I do have a 5 stage Reverse Osmosis system under the sink. I know water softener is bad for my orchids and will kill them but if I use the Revers Osmosis will this remove the stuff that will kill my orchids. Other wise I'm going to have to use bottled water or purchase a rain collector.
Thanks
Andrew

The RO system removes everything, at least down to a very low concentration, so in that sense it doesn't matter if you start with hard or softened water. Have no fear there.

Sometimes the volume of water used by an RO system can be a problem for a water softener, so they may be set up to draw unsoftened water. The RO system may go a little longer between maintenance with a softened water source though. Neither may be a big concern if your orchid collection isn't too big.
