Phalaenopsis Rebloom?
I have a Phal that is about a year old. After its blooms fell I continued to care for it and it has since grown several new leaves and roots. I've also been fertilizing, and the plant looks quite healthy. But it has yet to Rebloom. When can I expect this? I thought that by this time I would be getting a new flower spike.
I'm also considering inducing the bloom since a lot of material I've read has said that a temperature drop at night is necessary for a Rebloom. If I do this, how long of this exposure would it take before a bloom appears on average? Days? Weeks? Months? And if the flower spike does appear, do I continue to subject it to the temperature fluctuation or should I move it back to the original conditions?
Thanks.

As they say - a watched pot never boils. If you do manage a temp variance, I would expect a spike to initiate within 4 weeks and then approx another 8 weeks to bloom. Good Luck.
What phal is it? Many species phals are more 'difficult' to rebloom.

The temperature drop itself would take only 1-2 weeks.

My phals are inside for the winter, so I just open the window at night for a couple of weeks, and that seems to do the trick.

So we agree on the length. I had mine outside last fall when the night temperatures went down into the 50's. An open window in winter in my climate would be a bit much.
