Which is one reason why habitat preservation is paramount. But literally putting all of an endangered species' eggs into one basket makes no sense if there are viable alternatives.

I used to keep pheasants. We had some Edward's that were supposed to be extinct in the wild.

There's a country in Asia or somewhere that has these fabulous butterflies that were being hunted to extinction. the government in a rare flash of brilliance set up breeding farms for the natives to breed the butterflies. It was made law that the only butterflies allowed out of the country have to come from those farms, and the farms have to release plenty into the wild each year. It's a massive success apparantly.

To lighten up the conversation: It took me a while to figure out what were the sepals, petals, and lip, but I think I have it figured out. The 'head' and 'face' must be the column, meaning the lip is the part of the flower attached to the bust of the demon. The first thing that popped into my head when I figured this out was a demon wearing an exquisitely pompous Victorian-era dress.
