Default Single oncidium bulb

Hi.

I was given a single oncidium bulb. I would like to know if I have any chance of success in trying to grow the bulb into an orchid. If so, what is the best thing to do.

Thanks for your help.

What are your conditions right now? Temp, humidity, etc...

Maybe you can take a look at this thread...there are several techniques on how to do it but I guess it all depends on the condition of the pbulb. Can you post a photo?

I assume it is special, if it was given to you. The smaller the bit of a plant you get, the longer it will be to flower, and the more TLC it will need.

Were it not special, in your shoes I would bin it and buy a decent specimen.

Set up a tray of perlite, moisten it, and barely nestle the base of the pseudobulb into it. Keep the perlite moist, and as soon as it sprouts new roots - which may happen before of after new growth emerges - pot it up in whatever you're comfortable with.
