So judging the roots might be a problem if it is potted up. Looking at the shoot, how tall should it be, or how many leaves should it have before you start watering.

After I potted it up, I just estimated the length of the roots, taking into account how long they were when I potted it, and how fast they'd been growing prior to potting. I then waited another couple of weeks just to be on the safe side.

Beautiful! Congratulations. If falling over is a problem, you could just put the plant, pot and all, in a terracotta pot to provide some weight and support. Looking forward to flowers!

It's actually pretty perfectly balanced at the moment, it's my Cattleyas and Den Phals that seem to have had too much to drink!
