I found that out a couple of years ago when I accidentally broke a spike with buds on it! I figured it wouldn't hurt and sure enough, all the buds still bloomed! Then they lasted for a couple of months! I was amazed!

UPDATE...
I am happy to report that I have, in fact, re-potted my little queen and within 24 hours she is responding!
This little girl ROCKS!
Now the leaves are "firming" up quite well and the blossoms are "curling"!
GLORY BE TO GOD!
I think she's gonna make it!
