keiki questions
Default keiki questions

I got this mini orchid at Walmart (got it for a discount cause it didn't have any blooms) and I noticed it had a keiki (a 2 for 1 deal lol) I've never dealt with keikis before, so how long will it be before I can separate it from the mother plant and how should I care for it for the time being? At the moment i can see that it had 2 or 3 little root shoots coming from it. Any advice on keikis will be helpful, thanks!

You should wait until you have at least 8 total inches of roots, if possible (so four 2-inch roots, or three 3-inch roots, would be OK.

How old do you think the keiki is? And when do you think it will be blooming size?

Also what should I repot I in? Bark crushed up since it's a mini and the bark I have is quite big? Sphagnum moss? Or a combination of both?

That isn't a keiki. I suspect it was just two ex-flask seedlings that were potted together.

Separate at will...
