I must confess...
... I have purchased from ebay after a good 3 months of resisting the urge. 4 plants will be arriving shortly and I'm moving in a few days. What have I done?
As the great OBers you are, please rationalize my decision for me. I feel guilty but not really at the same time!

You're an adventurous guy and you need challenges, for ex, to try to fit your new house into your orchids needs.

Hey, you'll get no sympathy here. It's only natural to spend one's fortune on fragile plants. Only Natural... It can't be justified. I mean why even try? Can you justify a rainbow? You just keep doing what you are doing. Everything is perfectly normal.

You were going to have me plant sit during your move. You then forget about the plants in my care in the excitement of your new digs and order more plants!
BTW, what did you order and where are you moving to?

Heh! Short attention span, I see. Where is the plant list?
And those new plants are just a welcome to you in your new home .

Thanks guys for the ... encouragement! You're the best! New home = new plants. It's basic maths!

I'm moving... 1 floor down and across the hall... haha. Going from a 2 bedroom to a studio, but I'll have more space, oddly enough, because there's less competition for it! Still in Berkeley, though, so growing conditions will remain basically the same with some extensive modifications because I got some cash from graduation! Who needs to save money for the future!?!

Also @mouse Short list; just a few little guys.
Paraphalaenopsis laycockii
Angraecum germinyanum
Phalaenopsis (violacea var mentawai x zebrina)
Haraella retrocalla
Logic being... if I can grow and bloom a Renanthera, I can grow these guys... I think.
*Now that I think about it, I forgot to order something else. Oh my god what have I done!?

No problem. The ones you bought were because of the stress of moving, but you still need to get yourself some house-warming gifts for the new place, right?

A very natural and beneficial thing. And if you pay any heed to the butterfly effect, you might just have saved the entire planet. Good job.

I like to think that, in collecting species, if anything should go wrong and my 'chids go extinct in the wild, I would be able to give back the genetic diversity to reestablish them in the wild. I am essentially a living seed vault that is necessary and I must do everything to... save the planet! It's for the people!!!

Everything, you say? EVERYTHING?!? I don't think I can manage to water and repot everything on my own! ... because that's totally the only thing stopping me from owning one of everything on my list...
