Are the eBay indigo blue Violacea for real?
Very tempted, some amazing indigo Violacea on eBay, looks better than HP Norton's, but I have doubts.
Found the sellers website
Orchid
Looks suspicious as the web was active only since Feb. and no business contacts or email address, phone, history of the cross etc., nothing.
I checked Whois & the register is kept private.
Do you guys think this is legit? Bunch of buyers paying high price for seedlings on eBay.

$100 is too much for a violacea, IMO. Plus, I don't trust websites where the seller doesn't take the time to spell-check, but this is just my peccadillo. Cynbidium? Reaaaaallly?!
Perhaps it's a foreign site? It seems English may not be the first language.

There's no way the plants will flower that color. The photos are conspicuously color adjusted to misrepresent the color of the bloom. Don't believe it for one second.

" Welcome to Orchidindigo , the only orchids nursery that have the most Phalaenopsis Violacea Indigo Blue offer to the world . "
I agree. Doesn't look like English is the first, or even second, language for this site.
I've heard of, and seen LOTS of Chinese companies showing up on eBay in the last, hmmm, 2 years?
Some I hear OK things about, some I hear not such good things about.
A number I've seen were pushing rose bushes. Roses with blooms that seemed pretty incredible...if they actually bloomed true.
I'm uncomfortable doing business with anyone, on an bid site, that is overseas. Personal experience when I did some selling.

In OrchidWiz there are a number of photos of fairly blue (for orchid blooms) coerulea varieties of violacea. But I believe most Phal. violaceas have quite lime green leaves. More lime green than most Phals. If you look in the photo, the leaves are a very dark bluish green hue. It tells me that while it may be a legit coerulea variety, the photo has been nudged in the blue spectrum and not a correct white balance on it. So it likely won't be that stunning of blue. More like a bluish purple colour. If you look at the other photos that are supplied with this plant listing, the leaves are a much different colour, more green. So they have altered the one bloom picture to enhance the blue colour of the bloom and the others without blooms are more realistic.

there's seedlings of supposedly indigo violaceas for sale on ebay from an Malaysian seller. I suppose its possible they're legit, the only way to know for sure is to buy a flowering plant in person.

It says it's planted in sphagnum moose mix. This sets off alarm bells for me. :P
