I think it's fair to share the table 50-50. The top surface for plants, the bottom surface for other uses.

Wow that is awesome. Are all those shallow pots ones that you have cobbled together? They look so nice. I'm going to have to give that a try.

Thank you. Yeah, they are all home mades. If you need to ask questions, feel free.
At the moment I am getting into mounts. I am running out of bench space, and have twigged that If I can hang some from the roof, it frees up more space. Just don't tell the OH!

Thank you. We were lucky enough to be able to retire to Spain and have a nice garden.. plus, my OH is very tolerant of the orchid invasion. Originally she wanted the terrace to be a sort of Japanese Minimalist Space, but the plants have somewhat taken over and she has become resigned to the green invasion.

Very nice space and your orchids look like they are living in paradise. My wife and I have been traveling to Spain a lot lately, and we are also thinking about retiring there. My grandparents were born in Spain and we have been visiting the descendants of the members of the family that did not move to Cuba. Most of them live in Galicia and Asturias, but I love the southern regions, especially Sevilla.

We are two hours from Seville (which is VERY hot) near a town called Vejer de la Frontera wich is near the coast. It is a particularly nice part of Spain, I have to say.

I was surprised to see the humidity in Seville is higher than I expected year-round. It sounds wonderful.
And it's interesting to see what is considered "hot" in different places.
This is actually an important point. Before the Internet I was trying to find out the maximum temperatures for some succulents from southwestern Africa. People from England who had been there during the warm season told me it was unimaginably hot, and the succulents grow in full sun on rocks. I tried some of them in dappled shade and they melted when it was just warm here. Later I found some climate information at the library and found that "unimaginably hot" meant an all-time maximum record high of about 90 F / 32C, which we might experience any time between the end of January and mid November.
So, when reading about what plants experience in habitat, a verbal description of temperatures is not very valuable. Get the numbers. This is so much easier now than it was just 20 years ago.
