Not Allowed To Go To Plant Festivals Alone Anymore.. Male
Wink Not Allowed To Go To Plant Festivals Alone Anymore..

I was able to go to the "Green Thumb Festival" this past Sunday, down in St. Petersburg, FL.

St. Petersburg Green Thumb Festival

I highly recommend anyone taking the time to visit this event, next year, if you're in the Tampa Bay area or live close enough to make the trip.
But bring along your wagon, a pull cart, or extra people to help you carry your purchases!

It was an absolute beautiful weather for this outdoor event!

I, shamefully, got carried away.
I was hoping to find a Foxtail fern, which I didn't.
But I came home with (SURPRISE) 20 new varieties/species of orchids.

This doubled the number I already have (19 when I left the house Sunday morning).
So now I have 39!
(A weird number I know. Guess I'll have to get one more somewhere to make it an even 40. But I have to wait until I'm not paying attention to myself )

Here's a really bad picture of 17 of the new ones, groups where I kept them overnight.

p.s.: I'll be posting about each one, asking for help about a few, in a few days. Once I get them organized.

Numbers don't really mean anything until you hit triple digits.

There is no one magic number. Everyone has their own threshold. Space is a major limiting factor. Time/dedication is another.

Good luck figuring that out before you declare bankruptcy, have to eat standing at the stove or gone insane.

Triple numbers don't scare me.
A long as I can find another place to park the car all is good!

I went, too! We brought the dog, and my fiancé eventually just had to wander off on his own because I kept darting into tents. I brought a certain amount of orchid money... Cough cough... May have spent a bit more than that...

We all came home very happy. Great event.

Maybe next year we can convince a group of us to go and again buy more orchids then we planned to?

It was a last minute thing for me.
But I'm really glad I went.

I lived in St. Petersburg for more then 25 years, and the year I move to Winter Haven is the 1st time I hear about this wonderful event.

It is great that you found so many wonderful orchids to bring home! I think we have all gone a little crazy now and then. I've been doing that online, unfortunately. At least you were limited by what you could lug to the car!
Have fun with them all!
