Introducing myself
New to the Orchid Board. Fell into orchid culture about a year ago. Good luck with other houseplants, but had always avoided orchids - afraid they were too hard to keep alive. When a friend gave me a phal, not only did it live, it thrived. No one was more shocked than me!
Since then, have been gradually collecting and have about 45 plants. Easy ones at first: phals, paph, then oncidiums, dendrobiums. Have become smitten with the cooler growers, miltoniopsis and masdevallias. Joined the local orchid society and the AOS. Learning a lot; have a lot to learn.
Orchid Society members say this hobby becomes an addiction and I can see how this happens.
