Default Orchid 2 weeks without water?

Hi all, it's been 2 weeks since I watered my Orchid and roots inside the pot aren't completely silver yet. Should I water it or should I leave it? For me 2 weeks is too long without water. What do you think?

If your medium is still wet after two weeks, I would guess that it just doesn't allow sufficient airflow to be particularly healthy for the plant.

Then go ahead an water.

The silvery velamen layer can vary in thickness depending upon the conditions and the needs of the plant to trap and hold water for later absorption. Roots down in the pot, where the water supply is more predictable, simply might not grow as thick of a layer.
