Your orchid society will love it if you bring all your flowering orchids to display.

And I envy your ability to grow a maidenhair fern.

Welcome

Seems like you are well on your way into the orchid-addiction😎😂

You are in the right place☺️👍🏻

Have no idea about the society meetings, but why not? Its an orchid.

Thanks everyone!

Estacion seca: thanks about the fern! The first one I had actually died a slow, painful death, but this one is thriving. The trick this time seems to be the ultrasonic humidifier aimed directly at it, regularly blasting it with fog. I also planted it in moss, which it seems to like.

At our show in March, there was a moth orchid with a similar structure that received an AOS award. Perhaps something like this will be the basis of a new direction in breeding.

I just recently joined the local orchid society here--they've been very kind and welcoming. Some members have extensive collections in their greenhouses, some have a few windowsill NOIDs, (that's me), but everyone enjoys the gatherings, talks, show and tell, etc. So I can't speak for the club in your area, but this one has been very fun, no snobs. Go and enjoy!
