Default Phal growing well but No Spikes

Hi, new to the forum and looking forward to HELP. I purchased a Phal. in Jan. of 2015 and it was pretty sickly looking for a few months. However she has been growing like mad since last spring, several new leaves and roots galore. I was expecting a spike this winter but all it seems to want to do is grow more leaves and roots. I've tried the cracked open window to give it some cool weather. I fertilize twice a month with 1/2 strength fertilizer and occasional bloom food. I'm assuming light is not the issue since the leaves are a nice firm medium green. Any other ideas out there ????

If the plant was sickly in Jan. 2015, it may still be in recovery mode, not blooming mode. Even healthy plants sometimes skip a year of blooming. It is also possible that a boost in light might spur some spiking. Is it possible for you to summer the plant outdoors? This provides a daily change of temperature that seems beneficial, as well as superior light. It is really hard to know if your light is strong enough if you have not measured it in lumens or foot-candles.

Thank you, thank you. I have moved it to a brighter location a couple days ago and I'm sure I can move it out side once May rolls around. I suspected it may still be recovering from last winter but thank you for the confirmation that I am on the right track, ( I hope).
