What fun! I get Zygos for March, but my Zygos never look like theirs. Pooh. At least I have one good Zygo bloom this year.

Hmmm ...
June is Vanda.
I suppose I can live with that.
Especially with all the weed Vandas I have growing around here.
But, I wish it were Dendrobium instead.

The Den. hybrid shown for January is one of my favorites, Den. Yukidaruma King, a Yamamoto Nobile hybrid.
I have one with buds about to begin opening soon.

I think what ever is in bloom on your birthday can count. Although I do like Vandas.

I have a friend who claims multiple birthdays throughout the year. He says it's more fun that way. You can pick whichever orchid month you prefer.

Or, write your own calendar and put it on your society's Web site.

We all know someone with a birthday in every month. Use their birthday as an excuse to buy the orchid of the month to help you remember their birthday! It can be the post it note/string around your finger.

Mine is January, Dendrobium. That picture of a gorgeous nobile type seems an omen as that is the only type of Dens I seem to be able to grow and bloom.
