Sidney is alive!
Default Sidney is alive!

I thought this year I would try a couple of Phrags and paphs.

Back came the order, but somehow en route, it had got chilled, and several of the plants were showing damage. The Phrag sednii (yes, that's why I call it Sidney) had been affected the worse.

It consisted of an established fan, with a new fan on the side. Not only had the young fan had the centre killed, but so had the established fan.

I stuck it in the pot more in hope than anything, and then today, there was a small new fan starting to push up between the other two fans.

It's pretty small as yet, and doesn't show too well on the photo, but it is moving, and it has the whole year to develop.

bil you almost stopped my heart. That was one of my basset hounds name and that's how I spelled it. I so wish she was, I mean still alive.

Any way back to the Paph, so happy she is going to survive. Good old Sidney.

Losing a dog is hard, far harder than non dog people grasp.
Bassets are great dogs. We have one (Fred) as the pics show. The Lab is Muttley, my first dog, who really broke our hearts when he died.

God bless old dogs!

I have a dachshund (T-bone),who is 15.5 years old. He loves absolutely everybody. Unfortunately, he has old age and medical problems, can't get around like he used to, we just do what we can.

It never ceases to impress me what people will do for their dogs. I love to see those with paralysed back legs, where their owners have made them lightweight chariot wheels, so they can run and play.

He is also known a Lord Freddles of Fat Paw because of the regal way he sits in the corner of the sofa. If you are sitting there, you become aware that he is giving you a very old fashioned look, filled with sadness, that you haven't realised that the Royal Seat is not to be trifled with. If you ignore him he eventually goes off shaking his head sadly at the lowering of standards.

Basset hounds, well hounds in general just kill me with there attitudes. I have had 4 bassets and I also had basset/red bone mix. My sister had 2 coon hounds they really just know there better than anything else.

I forgot to say sorry about Muttley it is so hard to lose them. I have had to several. OW wow 15 1/2 that's pretty darn good poor T-Bone, sorry he's not doing so well. Maddie my basset/ Red Bone was around 14 when I had to put her down. The people had her for 9 years then dumped her back at the shelter. Now I just got a new old dog from the shelter that the people dumped after 4 years of having her.

I really just don't know whats wrong with people, I love the old dogs. And when I get them they seem to blossom and start packing life into there last years you just gotta love that.
