I have always had puppies, but now I'm getting old, maybe I'll go down the route of older dogs.

I really just don't know whats wrong with people, I love the old dogs. And when I get them they seem to blossom and start packing life into there last years you just gotta love that.
T-Bone actually keeps a pretty positive attitude despite his problems. I know he wishes he could do more walking (his favorite thing in the world) but he settles for puttering around in our fenced back yard.

Good for you for adopting mature dogs. If I ever have another, it will be an old dog.

How in the name of everything do you do that? I mean, SERIOUSLY? Someone has a dog for years, and then they dump them?

That isn't even human.

Dogs are so resilient, I hope he has a few good years left.

I know, there is no way I could do that. Not to mention I also heard they got a new puppy. Now I do want to say I don't have a problem with people getting a puppy. In fact I think I am still young enough that we will get one again. And we have both had a dream to have another basset puppy and get one with very good breeding this time.

It's just both of these old girls had a history with me from my Shelter days so they had to come home with me. I have rambled probably too much so I'll leave out the rest of the story's. But I really have found out that these two at least have been so much fun to watch blossom. It's as rewording as getting a long awaited orchid to bloom

And I will be getting more old dogs in my future I'm sure. OW if you do get an older dog I think you won't be sorry.

That makes it worse, not better. I genuinely cannot grasp how a human being could be so callous.

Exactly. But my Maddie had a very good end to her life and way better nutrition as my dogs that eat dog food I also cook for them. My other 2 eat a raw diet. She was a happy girl.

That new growth starting to emerge on Sydney is awesome! Will be excited to see how well it is doing this time next year.

Love your dog pics & reading about them. I am a dog person and have had several very old poodles (16 & 17 yrs) in my lifetime. Poodles are my favorite, always had a poodle in my life from 9 yrs to present day. I still have 5 of the furry foo-foo rascals as well as a few other kinds.

Thank you. In some ways I get more excited about roots and shoots than I do about the flowers!

Flowers are gorgeous, but shoots and roots are exciting. A dying orchid can flower, but when you see shoots and roots, you know you are winning.
I have a L pumila that I pulled out of its pot and mounted. It now has 7 new leaves and shoots, where last year it just had 7 established ones. Now, that's exciting.
