Do you track the growth of your plants?

I write on the tag the date and where I got it, when I repot and when it blooms. I started to try a file system, but that hasn't really gone anywhere. Basically I just want to know when and for how long they bloom so I kind of know when to expect the next bloom session.

I take photos on my phone, and I would like to do more than that, but just irregularly visual documentation is incredibly helpful. Sometimes I don't notice something developing and then when I do I can look back at photos to see when it started. It's also helpful to remember how it looked the day I bought it, or what it looked like a year ago.

Just today I was looking through some photos of my cyms from last June, and found that the scale infestation I discovered in November was already in full swing then! If I would organize these images in folders by individual plant, I would see the whole story, but so far I haven't got around to it.

I agree with you.
Among the things I've tried so far, pictures at regular intervals, are the most effective and simple way.
I found online, a free software that creates a timeline of images and allows the addition of notes.
While I am looking at the sequence of images, besides the pleasure of seeing the development of the plant, I can notice even small changes.
For example, it proved very useful in calibrating the intensity of the light, by comparing the color of the leaves.
In time I will be able to determine more accurately phases of growth during the year, for different plants and therefore give specific care.
A snapshot requires an instant and provides a wealth of information.

I try to water on Fridays since that's the day I work from home and weekends can be a little hectic. I have two Tolumnias that I will dunk in water every day while I make breakfast and then put them back in their spots to dry. First watering day of the month, they all get regular water. Rest of the Fridays, they get water with fertilizer.

Aside from that, I keep a blog with pictures so I have an idea of when they last bloomed and what those blooms look like
