I'm with Connie. I tried using them for regular houseplants and several potted plants outdoors. A few days when it got really hot outside, I'd come out to all of the soil in the pot being dried out and my plants hours away from the point of no return, but the AquaGlobes were still full of water. I understand the principles of capillary action but its certainly not foolproof. I'm sure that under certain circumstances, with specific potting soils, AquaGlobes work very well. I just haven't figured out which type of soil (I'm not even talking orchid bark) is required for the AquaGlobes to work as advertised. My two cents: they make a nice decoration, but don't expect them to take care of your plants for you.
