While at a local orchid show, my grandmother bought a new Phal. The tag states that it's Phal Salu John 'D297'. However when looking this orchid up online, none of the pictures that I found for this name match the orchid she bought. I'm wondering if the wrong tag ended up in the pot. Can anyone confirm if this orchid is a Salu John? If not, any idea what it is?
As soon as you can, call or write the vendor and send them the photos. They may know what it is. Their name and contact information are probably on the plant tag.
I don't know anything about the hybrid, but a name tag switch at a show is a very common occurrence, and the vendor probably knows her/his plants well enough to help you.
Dogs and curve-billed threshers are even better at removing name tags than are human larval and senescent stages.

I'll see the vender again at my orchid society's show in a few weeks and definitely planned on asking him. Thought I'd double check here though, just in case.
